This is A Cappella.

ABOUT THE TECHTONICS

The Techtonics are a lower-voice A Cappella group from Imperial College London. Despite being entirely made up of STEM students, they have firmly established themselves at the top of the UK A Cappella scene and, thanks to their international tours and ICCA victory*, they are known far beyond their home country.

Whether they’re performing on Broadway or busking in Covent Garden on a Saturday morning, the characteristic energy of the group will always have you walking away with a smile.

*Yes, that’s the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella, the competition the Pitch Perfect franchise is based on…

So far, they have three studio albums, Groundbreaker, Clockwork, and the brand new Inertia (Live), two CARA nominations and one CARA award for ‘Best Male Collegiate Song’ for their version of Labrinth’s Earthquake. In addition to having a five-star sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2016, they have toured the East and West Coasts of the United States, continental Europe, and even Hong Kong.

In the 2023/24 academic year they released their third album, hosted the Open A Cappella Competition in February and are heading back to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (with a particularly unique show) in August.

NEW RELEASE

Have a look at what we got up to on our second tour to Switzerland last April.

The main focus of our international tours is to bring what we love to younger and wider audiences. We do this by giving workshops on music and performance in secondary schools, as well as offering performances to the broader school community.

Our workshops have been praised internationally, and we are regularly invited back to schools year on year.
